Go to one of the places you've seen in The Sound of Music, such as Mirabellgarten, the beautiful gardens where the children learn to sing, or the Cathedral Square and sing “Edelweiss” or “Do, Re, Mi.” It's completely free and you're sure to have fun. We recommend strolling between the beautiful buildings in Altstadt. Have a look at the impressive baroque cathedral, St. Peter's Monastery and Cemetery and the Salzburg Castle. The castle is one of the biggest in Europe! Another grand castle is the Hellbrunn Palace, park and trick fountains. Water is the central theme in the design. Hidden in the shade of bushes and trees or jetting out from unexpected hiding places - the world-famous Wasserspiele have been the main attraction at Hellbrunn for almost 400 years.
