The Pearl
Perlan (the Pearl) is probably one of Reykjavík's top two landmarks and it contains one of the city's top restaurants. And it's one of those fancy revolving restaurants to boot!
The iconic pearly glass dome on top of the enormous hot water tanks on top of Öskjuhlíð hill is easy to spot and a great place from which to spot all of Reykjavík and its surrounding sea, mountains and countryside.
It contains an excellent café on one level, and a very fancy revolving restaurant on the top level.
Perlan is regularly ranked as one of the top restaurants in Iceland and one of the top revolving restaurants in the whole world. It is especially famous for its seafood, steak, cocktails and desserts. Oh, and its Christmas buffet (if you're reading this in December).
Elsewhere in and around the building you will see a truly immense water fountain, a Christmas shop, a man-made geyser, a forest, outdoor fitness equipment and a regular schedule of fairs, sales and exhibitions.
