Visit Boston for the Holidays
One of the greatest things about Christmas is that magical time leading up to it. There’s nothing quite like checking out of the stress back home, taking a little Advent-trip, doing your Christmas shopping early and enjoying the holiday cheer in a new place. This year, why not head to Boston for the holidays? ‘Tis after all, the season.
Christmas shopping and tons of fun
If you’re thinking about getting the Christmas shopping done early, Boston is the perfect destination. The day after Thanksgiving, or Black Friday as they like to call it stateside, is a particularly good date for the shopaholics, when sales reach extreme heights. This year, Black Friday comes up on November 24th and apparently the early bird gets the worm.
During December, we highly recommend a visit to Quincy Market in Faneuil Hall where you can look up in awe at the huge Christmas tree while enjoying the luscious scent of roasted almonds and wonderful sounds from the musicians, creating that magical holiday mood. For the bulk shoppers, a trip to the mall is a must but no worries, it’ll be adorned in holiday cheer like it’s Christmas Day already.
When you’ve gotten the Christmas shopping out of the way, head straight to a nearby ice skating rink to fall over laughing with the locals. We recommend the Frog Pond in Boston Common for some real Bostonian good times. Boston also has a variety of entertainment for young and old like the pop symphony Boston Pops and Disney on Ice and for you classical Christmas nuts, why not check out this year’s production of the Nutcracker?
