How do I get to and from the airport?
The airport is connected to the New York City Subway and the Long Island Rail Road by the JFK AirTrain and several city buses (Q3, Q6, Q7, Q10, B15). This is the cheapest option but please note that you might have to carry your bags up and down a lot of stairs.
Taxi service at JFK. This is by far the easiest way to get from JFK to anywhere in Manhattan, but of course not the cheapest. Remember to only take official Yellow Cabs or Uber.
New York International Airport opened in 1948 and was commonly known as Idlewild Airport before being renamed John F. Kennedy International Airport on December 24, 1963, in memory of the 35th president of America.
