All Tomorrow’s Parties Iceland
After our first ATP music festival last summer we were left wanting more and so we were very pleased to learn that ATP will return to Iceland 10-12 July 2014. WOW air offers cheap flights to Iceland from all over Europe in July so there’s really no excuse for not showing up at this party!
All Tomorrow’s Parties Music Festival is held in former NATO base Ásbrú, near Keflavik on the Reykjanes Peninsula. Despite being a few months away, all passes with accommodations have already sold out. There are of course other available accommodations a little further away and judging by this early interest this party is promising to be a big event.
The biggest acts of the festival are Portishead and Interpol along with a bevy of great Icelandic artists such as Soley and Mammút.
All Tomorrow’s Parties is an organization based in London that has been promoting festivals, concerts and records throughout the world for over ten years. From the beginning, the festival has set itself apart from other big festivals by staying intimate, non-corporate and fan-friendly. The line-ups are chosen by significant bands or artists resulting in unpredictable and exciting events combining performances by legendary and influential acts with appearances by the latest crop of experimental artists from any (and every) musical genre.
Based on last year’s ATP Iceland the people behind this music festival are real professionals. As Icelandic festivals go we expected some delays but there were no delays to speak of, not even when The Fall’s infamous Mark E. Smith went well over the allotted time frame in his many poetic rants. As WOW air always strives for the best possible on-time-performance this is surely a party we can recommend.
